7th Anniversary | ROHINGYA GENOCIDE REMEMBRANCE DAY 2024

The Rohingya community marks the seventh anniversary of Rohingya Genocide Remembrance commemorating the Rohingya victims of genocide who were killed and forced to flee their homeland under the hands of the Burmese Military on August 25, 2017.

The renew campaigns of genocide that Rakhine militant group Arakan Army (AA) has launched in May 2024, have already destroyed the last two remaining Rohingya-majority towns – Maungdaw and Buthidaung. The AA has now employed the textbook genocidal tactics that the Burmese Military has institutionalised against the Rohingya community for decades despite the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has imposed provisional measures on Burma to “prevent all genocidal acts against the Rohingya, to ensure the military and other security forces do not commit acts of genocide, and to take steps to preserve evidence related to the case”.
